It's been a while since I blogged last, and that has been due to me heeing and hawing about shutting down the blog all together. It can be somewhat time consuming and I am never really sure that anyone reads it, except for my 9 followers : ) . I also get annoyed that the people who anonymously do read it know stuff about me and I am not kept up to date with them. Adam has pointed out the fact that I love writing and this is the closest thing I do to it anymore, so for now... I shall continue...
We returned from Europe the last day of June, and since then July has just flown by. It's crazy how fast time goes. Summer seems to move faster that usual. I have been thankful for all that I have gotten to do this July. The Fourth was easy going this year, we spent it at Alisa's parent's home, where they set up chairs and you can watch the fireworks from the driveway. It was Gavin's first firework's display and he slept right through!
July 7th, was my long anticipated birthday present. Adam asked me what I wanted for my birthday in February and I said without hesitation, tickets to the Brother's of the Sun Tour. There you have it, ask and you shall receive. The concert was fabulous. It started at 4pm, and we didn't walk into our door till midnight or so. They each got equal stage time, and performed 3 songs together. I was worried they wouldn't play the old stuff, the new stuff is just not as good. I was not disappointed. I could not speak the next day, and that is the sign of a good concert.
As always, I asked Rachael if she wanted to go and she said yes!!! It was the first time she was away from Alex for more than a couple hours, so a lot of her time was spent checking in. But he did just fine.
Next up was Burger Fest in Roscoe Village. We always have a good time at Andrea and Dave's annual party. It is so darn delicious. I hear they floated 2 kegs this year. I was not around to see the hoisting of it over Dave's head though. Sad.
Chris was in town for an entire week. I was able to spend a day with him. And then on a Sunday everyone came over to our house for hamburgers and hot dogs, even Alex. It was the first time Chris met his great-nephew.
It's very rare to get a picture with all 4 siblings. Someone is always missing... always. So, needless to say I was happy to get a few.
We had Orlando friends in town last weekend and met up with them at the Taste of Lincoln. It was fun to see them, as always. Adam worked with both Chris V. and Mark in Orlando. I found this amazing amazing painting that I wanted to get at the Lill Street Craft fair... but it was 500 dollars. Had it been 100, it would have been sold, to me. I can't stop thinking about it. Damn.
And then finally, I got to meet Bea's precious new bundle, Victor. He is the cutest. Pictured here at 4 weeks old.
So, it was a busy month, and I loved every minute.
