Alisa's Bachelorette Party

Saturday June 19th, we celebrated Alisa's Bachelorette Party! Alisa and I headed downtown on the train making our way to the Hyatt Regency Chicago on Wacker. Once there, I got busy decorating the room with all the bachelorette must haves... (Alisa helped!) We all met at the hotel for presents and drinks, and then onward to Bandera for dinner.
Best part of the night by a long shot was this little bouquet of suckers... instead of playing Suck for A Buck where typically guys suck off a Lifesaver or some other hard candy from your shirt, I made a Dum Dum bouquet (I personally think you are asking for a bit of trouble if random guys are touching you!)... and guys paid a buck to get a sucker. Looks like they were the suckers though. Alisa made 92 dollars that night!
Here's her group of ladies... all together.... some had to leave as they have little ones at home!!! But it was great that everyone made it out for dinner!!!! Overall it was a huge success... and the stress is completely off of me now!!!!!!!!!! I look forward to the wedding where my party planning is finally over and all I have to worry about is standing in front of 200+ saying my speech!
Hope you enjoyed your last night out as a SiNgLe LaDy Miss Alisa!

.Last Single Lady Soiree.

This past Saturday, June the 12th Rachael and her closest ladies celebrated her last day out as a single woman. We started the day out at L'Eiffel Bistrot where we had crepes. Plans started out as a wine tasting, until a few of Rachael's friends started breaking the news they were pregnant... that idea went out the window, and those who could, ME ME, drank wine!
The crepes were absolutely delicious, I can't wait to go again soon!
Afterward, we just did a little shopping here and there.
Dinner was at Houlihans and then the girls headed back to my place. Ice cream was served with every topping I could possibly think of.
I made the above sash for Rachael. Well, it was pre-made and I just bedazzled.
She hated it.
I told everyone.
But she did manage to take this super cute "looks like I love it" sash picture!

Congrats Hawks!

If there was one thing I missed about Chicago while I was gone, it was the sports teams. And last night the Blackhawks brought the Stanley Cup home. It was an exciting game! And I have to say, the PRIDE Chicago has is UNDENIABLE! Everywhere you went for the last few months, you see black and red, jerseys hanging in the windows of peoples homes, well wishes for the Hawks in store fronts, and just an overall excitement to see Chicago own it!

My very own cousin was on the news today... celebrating the Hawks victory!!! I was eating lunch in the break room at work and all of a sudden I hear his voice. I look up and on Channel 7 he is drinking mimosas talking and singing with the newscaster. It was absolutely hilarious. I have no idea how to post video footage, otherwise I would! Anyways, he was celebrating the right way with a million people he didn't know who have one thing in common, they love love love Chicago!

....one year later....

May 30th, 2010
Adam and I celebrated our OnE yEaR wEdDiNg AnNiVeRsArY....
Our first year was eventful to say the least, and there is no one I rather be with than this guy pictured above.
He makes me smile on a daily basis and that's all I need.
After dinner the night of our one year we traveled back to where we said I DO, and boy does that little white church hold a lot of charm.
I seriously can not believe a year has passed and I look forward to every single year ahead!

Alisa's Friend Shower

Saturday we celebrated Alisa's FRIEND bridal shower held at my home.
I think that it went just perfectly. I tried brightening up the place with bright flowers, and we had balloons scattered here and there.
Jeannine, Alisa's sister-in-law to be, was in charge of food, and she made a fabulous chicken salad. Dessert consisted of cookies, brownies, and Alisa's favorite, lemon meringue pie.

We squeezed everyone into my dining and living room area!!! Proof that 20 people can fit!

Happy Bridal Shower Alisa... and on to next Saturday for the family shower!
