Hole in the Floor
At this point in time, here is what my wooden floor looks like.... there was a huge creek in the floor whenever you stood in a certain spot... and they have tried everything they could to fix it... finally, they have decided to rip out half of it and start over. Eh... hope it works.
Bridal Shower Weekend
Rachael's Bridal Showers were both this weekend.... The first was Saturday, where she celebrated with all her friends, and the second was Sunday, celebrating with her family.
The poor thing woke up sick.
She's had a few wedding mishaps, and with 39 days to go, I would be sick too.
When you think your wedding was hard to plan just remember these things and be glad they did not happen to you.
1.Ryan's cats peed on all of their "handmade" invitations, having to re-do them in a hurry.
2. After confirming the wedding date at the church months before, when going to drop off the money for it, they claimed that the wedding was already booked by another couple.
Ummm, hello!!!
It has been taken care of thank goodness, but jeez! Talk about stress.

Happy Mother's Day!
We are happy to say that we had our first house guest! Adam's mom paid us a visit. She got to see the house, meet the pups, and enjoy IL for just 2 nights. We went out to dinner Friday night, Jimmy's Charhouse, my favorite. Saturday we spent the day at Museum of Science and Industry, my favorite again. After this we went to The Grand Lux Cafe. It was sooooooo delicious. I would definitely go back. Today she made her fabulous french toast for breakfast and we went to downtown St. Charles to walk around. Her short trip ended with a beef sandwich at Portillos. YUM!!! Happy Mother's Day to all of you fabulous moms out there!!!!!!!!!

Nicole's May Day Bridal Shower
Saturday May 1st, I attended Nicole's Bridal Shower. It was at the Oak Room in Bartlett and turned out great. It was so nice seeing some of the girls from high school and junior high. Nicole and I have been friends since high school. Our lockers were just a couple away from each other and we turned out to be great friends because of it.
She is marrying Bobby whom she has known since before preschool... they had a picture at the party to prove it! Even so, they never spoke till years after college. Strange how life works!
Nicole's mom forced her to wear a plastic tiara that flashed as Nicole doesn't like being the center of attention. She was a great sport about it.
I couldn't resist not taking picture of this HUGE cannoli that held a bunch of baby cannoli.
And finally I was so excited that Nicole's mom let me keep one of the centerpieces... Sunflowers are turning out to be one of my favorites.
Green Green Green!
In home ownership news... we have sod! Everyone keeps reminding me how now, as a homeowner, you get excited about things like this. I can't tell you how much better the house looks overall by simply adding a bit of green.
Now that the sod is in, it's time for a patio. So we had Dave, a friend of mines father in law come out and take a look. Of course there are so many choices, and so many prices. He should be getting back to us by the end of the day Monday with an estimate. I have no clue how much something like that would cost. We wish that the patio could have been put in before the grass, but things don't always work as planned. When you come home to find bulldozers and a bunch of guys digging in your backyard, you don't tell them to stop.
Other buys for the new home. One of those things to reel in the hose... and lots of sprinklers, (can't wait for the water bill this month). Things we are looking for: storm door for the front door and would you guess, a lawnmower.
P.S. On another note, how bout my new Adidas shoes from DSW here... hot pink and grey!!!
