Matron of Honor

I was asked to be Matron of Honor in two weddings in the year 2010. I have no idea how to be a Matron of Honor, but I am certainly going to try. While the thought of juggling two weddings, 2 brides, a boat load of parties, and possibly 2 speeches (1 month apart from each other) makes me crazy, I am certainly very excited to be apart of all these events!

Bride #1 is Rachael, my niece... and on Monday she purchased her wedding dress!!! Along with my sister Camille, and niece, Holly, we were there to help her choose the perfect one!

First time looking and she bought it that day! Can't show you the ONE though, till June 25th!!

Bride #2, Alisa, my dearest friend since 2nd grade... bought her dress already, and yesterday, was the second time we went shopping for bridesmaid dresses.

She narrowed it down to two dresses and her final decision is to be made next Tuesday!

The store was absolutely adorable!

I think store policy may have been no photography allowed, but I just couldn't resist!

Our Christmas Greeting 2009

Talk about an eventful year for us! 2009 proved to be a year of love, loss, and a miracle.

Let’s start with the LOVE! Adam and I tied the knot on May 30th in Illinois! It was a beautiful day in every way and we were both so happy with the way things turned out. We were grateful to celebrate the occasion with those we love. We honeymooned in Antigua for a week and had a wonderful time.

As for LOSS, we put Rascal to sleep in the beginning of July. He made one final voyage back to IL for the wedding where he saw his family and friends. Life became hard for him, and like everyone tells you, you know when “it’s time.” It was by far one of the worst experiences I have ever been thru. He would have been 18 years old this September. He was the best and is missed every single day.

In the middle of October, our neighbor knocked on our door letting us know that he had rescued a Yorkshire terrier, and thought maybe we would want him. At first, it was a big NO, but after about 15 minutes of thought, we said we’d meet him. We met him the next day, and we took him home. Charlie Wilson Jaco is our newest little addition to the family. The vet thinks that he is about 3-4 years of age. He puts a smile on our faces and fills some of the void Rascal left in our hearts.

And how about that MIRACLE! In November before Thanksgiving, Adam’s mom Linda, fell, hitting her head leading to an emergency craniotomy. We all arrived in NC the next morning cheering her on to health. She remained in the hospital for 5 days or so, and is still recovering now. We thank you again for all your prayers during that difficult period of time.

To round out our year of change we moved at the beginning of December to Illinois. Adam was offered a job downtown working for a software company, and I am currently looking for employment with one of the local hospitals. So far, we are adjusting back to the frigid air okay, except Charlie, who now is starting his own wardrobe of coats.

Two other trips were made this year, one to North Carolina in September to visit Adam’s family and a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas before the move to Chicago!!!

We look forward to what 2010 will bring us (many Cubs games?) And to what it will bring you as well.

Merry Christmas and Happiest New Year to you and your families,
Adam and Erica

CLUELESS!!!

I have no idea what I am doing on here, but alas here I am. I guess you just learn as you go they say??? Hopefully, this is true. So far, I am my only follower. But that's ok... maybe one day.

Keegan's Birth Story

So 2 years ago, I was preaching to the choir.... "I am never going to do this again."  "One kid is it for me."  "T...
