CW is 7, I think!

October 15th, Adam and I have had Charlie for 1 whole year! It's hard to believe our 5 lb. wonder has been in our lives for one year already. I never thought I could love another 4 legged creature so soon after Rascal died. And here I am, in love. Neither Charlie or Lucas will ever replace Rascal, nor any other dog, but they bring such a joy to my life.
Charlie has such a strong little spirit about him. He simply fell into our laps and made us smile and for that I am grateful.
Our Florida dog brings us sunshine every single day!
Happy Birthday Charlie... whenever your real birthday is we do not know, but we will celebrate the day we crossed paths this day!

Grow!!!

Don't mean to brag, but I have a total of 9 blooms now.
Just saying.

Graduation Day

LUCAS: Self Portrait

Sunday October 17th, Lucas graduated from Puppy School at PetSmart.
He really excelled thru out this 8 week class, behaving like a gentleman in class, and in class only. Really though, if we didn't have crazy Charlie at home teaching him all the wrong things, I think we would have a perfectly behaved dog.

Outside with his certificate!
Lucas can now, sit, lay, do puppy push ups, roll over, stay, and come when called.
Wowwee!

5 GUYS

How good do these burgers look? Mine is above nice and neat... Adam's is below nice and messy!!! This weekend we also made a stop at Five Guys. The best burger place EVER! Adam introduced me to this fine establishment when we first started dating. It was a must go to every time I traveled to Virginia... it was only a matter of time before it came to the Chi.

Made for each other!
Oh dear!

Goebberts

This past Saturday we risked our lives and went to Goebberts Pumpkin Farm. It was a beautiful day, and when you pair a beautiful fall day with 2 weeks before Halloween... you get a crazy swarm of people, overpriced pumpkins, and a whole lot of chaos.
Who cares!?
It was fun, and I got to show Adam where I picked pumpkins when I was little.
Don't Cinderella and Prince Charming look a little angry with each other?

Isn't that just something how a pumpkin grows?

Welcome Jeremiah Marshall

October 1st, 2010 my great nephew came into this world.
He is the precious product of my nephew Jeremy and his girlfriend Kim.
They are young parents, but they have a lot of support from their families. They will be great. Jeremiah Marshall will be loved.
He puts a smile on all of our faces.
October 3rd, was their baby shower. As Jeremiah wasn't supposed to arrive til October 10th, he was able to attend.

Here's Jeremiah with his Great Busia.
What a sweet sweet 2 day old bitty baby.
And here they are the proud parents...

Lil' Dahlia That Could

So I have to say, I do not have a green thumb what so ever. But I want to have a green thumb... I want to have a green thumb really, really bad. My whole obsession with wanting my thumb to turn green started with this small dahlia plant.
You see, Dr. Sales at work is a HUGE green thumb. He is all into it and has his own green house that he spends an obscene amount of time making hybrid plants and doing all kinds of things that are too smart for my explanations. Every year he brings in a bunch of dahlia plants for the nurses to take. He brought about 20 plants this year and we each got to pick one.
The one I picked was based on one thing and one thing only, it was the ugliest. I picked the ugly one because I tend to always go with the underdog. I knew no one else would want the sad little plant that was all wilted, barely 8 inches tall, and falling over.
And so, I felt it was my duty to take the little guy and see what I could do. I took him home late May, and planted him in the front of our house. I surrounded him with Miracle Grow, put him right in the front where the sun always hits, and watered daily. Religiously. My little plant grew and grew... huge, to above my waist, but no blooms. Each week over the summer months Dr. Sales would bring in his own beautiful dahlias and place them in a vase in the nursing station, talk about frustrating... How does he get all these gorgeous blooms and I have nothing? Finally I asked him, he quizzed me on what I have been doing to maintain my plant, and I said Miracle Grow, a lot of Miracle Grow... he told me that was my problem... rambling on about how there is either too much phosphorus or nitrogen or something in the dirt. He told me to do something else, that I forget now, but low and behold before I had too, I started getting blooms. This was 2 weeks ago. I feel like a mother showing off her kid who is bad at baseball, but she thinks is the best.... see for yourself.
Here's when it first started opening up...
A few days later....
And then just a couple days ago.
My little guy is so big now, he is falling over. I have a tomato planter around him as well as string attached to my front porch trying to hold him up, but it's still not working. Oh well, I have to take him out of the ground anyways for winter.
There are 5 more blooms on the plant right now, but I don't think they will open. But that's okay, I just wanted one, and I got two, so I am happy.
It is my goal this winter to research about plants and flowers so that I can do a little colorful landscaping in the spring. Hopefully, I'll learn something.

Keegan's Birth Story

So 2 years ago, I was preaching to the choir.... "I am never going to do this again."  "One kid is it for me."  "T...
